The team at TechTAC® has supported dozens of Authorized Dealers in the Bakken for many years. In the past, however, those relationships were managed out of the company’s Oklahoma City office. While that arrangement worked well, we knew that a more permanent residency in the area would provide our Bakken customers with even better service and delivery. That’s why in May of this year, the TechTAC® North Dakota office officially opened for business in Williston.
TechTAC® North Dakota may need to move to a larger shop sooner than later, but its current address is 410 48th Ave. W in Williston. While large or pallet orders will still ship from other locations, smaller tubing anchor orders, as well as parts, can typically be delivered or picked up locally.
Meet TechTAC’s Kodi Crager
The man in charge of the North Dakota office is Kodi Crager, a recent transplant from TechTAC’s Midland location. We asked Kodi a few questions to help our Bakken customers get to know him. Here’s what he said:
How long have you been with TechTAC? What led you to the company?
I joined TechTAC in May of 2022. I just happened to be looking for work in the Permian Basin. The simple but powerful mechanical nature of TACs, and my general interest in working on things that solve real customer problems, is probably what kept me here.
What other jobs have you had? Which one was the worst and why?
I have worked in medical file indexing, corporate grocery, and construction/manual labor. My time as a team lead in retail for a major grocer in Texas was probably my worst job. Granted, I was able to gain experience in managing working relationships within a large structured company, but the cumbersome movements of an enormous entity always seemed to crush the individuality of my teammates and movements within the company.
What do you like most about TechTAC?
I love how nimble TechTAC is able to be. Whether we’re slightly modifying a product on short notice or making big plays without tedious scrutiny: TechTAC is able to move efficiently with decision making and product development. I think this is so important as we try to meet the changing needs of service companies and the operators they support.

What made a Southern boy want to move to North Dakota?
I think the standard oilfield answer would be: “Well, the money was right!” But on a serious note, I have lived in the Deep South most of my life and spent a handful of years in the desert known as West Texas. When I visited North Dakota for the first time, I was awestruck at the natural beauty of the landscape. Seeing miles across mountain ridges is something I have never experienced so close to home. Also, I agreed to move before I really let the -70 degree wind chill everyone warned me about sink into my thick skull.
What do you like most about your new home? What’s the biggest adjustment?
I think it would have to be how small everything is. Everything IS bigger in Texas, and I missed the way people interacted when I lived in South Alabama. I think the lower density of population in North Dakota really lends to everyone’s niceness and generally good manners. I can’t tell you how long I have missed casually having a 30-minute conversation with an elderly lady in Walmart about tomato varieties.
The biggest adjustment has to be that my wonderful fiancé moved in with me as I moved to North Dakota. We are both young and aspirational. As it turns out, having an extra adult in the house changes a lot of things. Starting to build my life with her has been the most rewarding decision I have ever made. This transition would be impossible without her.
What do you like to do in your free time? Hobbies?
I typically like to stay within the stereotypical redneck hobbies. I like to hunt, fish, build and shoot guns, destroy my knuckles on a car that should be rolled into the lake, or just to spend time in nature. The classics, some might say.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Convincing the most beautiful woman in the world to marry a hick from Alabama.
In your opinion, what makes TechTAC successful?
Quality and service. I think most people would agree we sell a premium product. When you combine that with premium customer support, the business typically comes to us. The proof is really in the pudding.
What would you like our customers and future customers in North Dakota to know about you and the company?
We’re here! I got parts! Come get ’em! Just like the tools you’ve been getting all these years, just a bit closer. I’ll be giving out hats soon. They’ll show up for that; I’d put money on it.
